Post The CSS bug I was talking about
Geno, Kitten and I were pooning noobs in the GNG source server on dust2, then I started to lag like a motherfucker and my shit bugged out. I took screenshots. The player models aren't there except when people die. I saw a bunch of guns/grenades floating around and shit.

It was F*CKING hilarious so I figured I'd share.

its a prob with the geforce 4 series its not the card its just source wasnt ment to be ran on older nvidia cards only on the next gen nvidia cards ie the FX series they favored ATI so in turn they didnt put much time into tweaking the code to work with older but still decent nvidia videocards but they did with older ATI cards like the 9600 pro and so forth....geforce 4 ti4600 is still a bad ass card so if your gonna blame anyone blame valve for favoring ATI with their shity ass driver support

Uh.. my video card doesn't process the names of the people in the server and what team they're on.

Think about it.

If my client doesn't know what team someone is on, it can't pull models for them. That's what happened. I lagged out, I missed a bunch of packets but it didn't boot me, and my client didn't know peoples names or teams or even if they were connected or not.

It is a problem with the game, not my card. Argue with my reasoning and you're wrong. That's all. Thanks. Please drive through.

If he still has a PCI video card he couldn't handle any games. If you mean PCI express, then the answer is a resounding no.

take a look at newegg.com
http://www.newegg.com/app/searchProductResult.asp?Submit=Go&Range=&YahooID=21&MINPRICE=100&MAXPRICE=150&DEPA=0&bop=and&InnerCata=48

you want to look for a card with a 128-bit (256 best) interface and at least
128mb ram. looking at the SE models they only have a 64-bit interface.
