 Mad TV funny for once?
Usually I find this show annoying and an SNL wannabe, but this was one of those rare skits that made me laugh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w79R_02_Vqc&search=madtv

Too bad it got taken off the air. Whenever I hear that ringtone, I always laugh.

I think some of todays crowd is a little young to remember MTV's The State.
However, I agree completely with The State being one of the greatest if not in the top 3 sketch comedies made. Im still a huge fan of Kids in the Hall and The Upright Citizens Brigade.
btw I have every State and UCB episode on Tape if anyones interested.

I remember when they called it quits. After what, like 3 seasons? They could have easily kept that thing running for years. I think what hurt them the most was that they were on MTV and not a major network. (MTV wasn't the giant they are now back then) I remember I would hang out my bedroom window and smoke some.... stuff and watch the State and laugh myself to tears... god I miss that show.
Oh, and this thread has been offically jacked.

Now I have seen UCB, and that is one strange show.

Kids in the Hall = teh sux.
SNL WAS hilarious, it's getting back to being funny, like, a couple skits last night were good, but, since Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan, Jimmy Fallon, Tim Meadows, Molly Shannon, that hot chick and Tracy Morgan left the show, they have like, 3 funny people (Daryl Hammond, Chris Parnell, and that new guy that did the "McSure" thing last night.

Actually a huge company like NBC or CBS bought out the rights to MTV's The State.
They were going to continue a new season, but instead of airing the show the company pulled the plug on them and removed them off the air. It wasnt an issue of publicity or people not liking the show. It was an issue of some major corp buying there show out to air it and then cancelling it to get them off the air.
MTV still owns all the rights to the show, but they have yet to release a DVD collection despite the fans urges and wishes through petitions.

Eh. when I was a little kid, I only had cable at my dad's house. which was only visited during the summer. So my programming schedule included:
The Simpsons
Mad TV
Beavis and Butthead (Dad's)
