So insurance was finally filed for my LAP-BAND surgery (basically a less risky gastric bypass) last Monday. Today, my father got a call from the surgeon's secretary after she had received a call from Tri-Care.

Tri-Care doesn't cover LAP-BAND surgeries. Hoorah.

So, anyway, my father has decided to pay for it out of pocket. Something to the tune of $30,000 dollars. $30,000 he doesn't have. My dad is never going to be able to retire now. He's 63, has barely made a dime in years, is supporting his family off of his retirement fund, and is now going to get a loan for atleast $30,000. He's taking it so far up the ass for me that I can't even begin to comprehend how much he cares about my well-being because he's that great of a father.

I could sit here and bitch and complain about myself doing this to him, but I'm not that emo and faggoty. Yes, it's my fault this is happening, but there's nothing anyone can do to change the past, so all I can do now is respect the fact that my father isn't a dead-beat, walk-out asshole.

If you're into the praying thing, keep my father in your prayers. My family in your prayers. And I could use some prayer too.

Are you 18 yet Kitten? If you are you might be able to look into getting a private insurance policy, might be expensive, but I doubt its more then 30k, might be an option for ya?
