Actually have a possible solution to this too. Make the normal rotation with Office and Dust2 split by a map, and don't include dust2 or office in the vote, but add an option that is, move to next map (de_whatever) at end of list. This way, if they really want to play office or dust2 the server will have to play the map in between out, and if the server doesn't, it will be moved to another map that the server votes on.

Only problem I can see is that I think after a vote switches map it returns to the start of rotation, so whatever the first map is in the rotation will probably be the most played, usually servers put dust2 in this slot to refill after a possible server reset. However, I haven't seen a server crash since I've played on n00b so they could probably get away with putting a lame map there and then follow it with dust2. Just a suggestion, but it is better than having to play prodigy, which empties the server most times, 3 or 4 times a day.

I suppose I'll throw in my two cents here.

#1) n00bfest cannot charge membership fees. A lot of the people we have here aren't even old enough to have bank accounts. Also, to all of you fucks who keep talking about money money money -- where's your donation? I make my monthly $25 donation (this week it's in the form of fresh Texas Tobacco for Mrs. Corpse, which is why it's not on the page). What about the rest of you?

#2) Charging for admin is ridiculous. You can't buy our trust. You can buy a bit of respect, which is likely to get you some recognition when admin voting time comes around.. unless it's completely different than from when I used to do it.

#3) Branching out to new games is futile. COD4 seems to be the best non-counterstrike project we've had aside from WoW in quite some time. Let's not spread our icing too thin.

#4) More tournaments would be nice, but who would participate? We need to push membership a little harder so we can grow more, and then we'll have the numbers for a tournament. Right now, we've got a whole lot of chiefs and not enough Indians.

#5) The mapcycle does need to be adjusted, but from what I've seen nobody has posted any good ideas on how to do that. No custom maps on the rotation in the main. Let's do stock maps, but add a bit of variation. Nobody wants to download maps to go to a server (unless it's something gay like a funmaps server).

#6) There should be heavier moderation of the forum. Remember Cerberus? Remember Eyeless? Back in the day, I banned over a dozen people for making complete asses of themselves and doing dumb shit on the forum. No more "LOL HERE'S A RANDOM PIC!" on public areas of the forum. That shit makes us look retarded. While I sometimes post excessively retarded images, I generally do it on private forums. Nobody, even a n00bfest hopeful, thinks that shit is cool. It's like trying to impress a girl by telling her how much you can drink or how fast you think your car is. It's just not going to happen, and you're going to look like a huge douchebag. That's what we're doing by allowing the constant retarded shit on the forums: we're looking like huge douchebags. Let's start keeping record of offenses and temp-banning and/or perm-banning offenders for doing dumb shit in public view. Know why CorpseHumper doesn't want anyone to know his real name? Because he has a mighty high position in a very large company and he doesn't want anyone to find out about all of the ignorant, childish, openly-racist internet minions he's got under his control. It could potentially cost him his job.

#7) The council should be replaced/refreshed by people who actually play in the server on a regular basis. When I first drafted the idea for the council, it was to be a rotating position (3 months or so) with elected officials holding office. This gives the people power. I "went away" so to speak before I was able to fully implement the idea, so I'm not sure how it works now... but in the time that I've been back, it's been all the same people.

#8) ban GreaterBad. All he does is sit on the forum and talk shit and complain. He never plays in the server.

#5dont think that just because you think fun servers are gay, that the majority of the gaming population will agree with you, downloading dosent take too long and you can use the map on other servers. stock maps gets boring nothing wrong with something new.

#6 n00bfest is n00bfest although a little structure and diciplin is important n00bfest is pretty liberal in its diversity so your going to get your random threads that might be point less to you but maybe not to others... the general section is for anything in general if you dont like a thread ignore it and read somethign else... or start a thread with somethign that interests you or others. Although your opinions are always valued it dosent mean its the only opinion considered

7) most people in the council are very active on the servers those that are not as active in the server (you play) might be active in other parts of n00b like the inner workings or one of the other branches.. .such as CZ, COD, or WOW. You could always apply to be a council member and help make changes from the inside

My post wasn't about funmaps. There's nothing wrong with them -- they have their place. Shit, CorpseHumper's n00bfest started out as an iceworld server. My post was about having maps that require download on the main rotation unless you're going for a specific theme. Having a map that needs to be downloaded added to the rotation is generally a bad idea unless slowly weened. The elite server doesn't get a lot of play because you have to download so many friggin maps to play in there, and people are too retarded/lazy to figure out how.

I'm sorry, but you can't pull the free speech and "what's not interesting to you may be interesting to others" card on all of the random posts involving butts3x, gay images with things like "OWNED" and "FAIL" on them, and the overall level of immature faggotry that haunts this forum.

You would be surprized at how many posts I actually delete from these forums. Anytime I get online early enough, I filter out the horse shit from the night before and delete the junk stuff.

If we want to have a greater appeal to the general public, our forums that are open to the public should have a certain standard.

If I had time, I would get on the site each morning and afternoon and remove the bullshit posts and send warnings to the offending posters. Lord knows there's enough of them around here to keep me busy for a LONG time.
