 Re: Who plays an instrument?
I don't know the Clarinet was complicated. You had to have your fingers spread throughout the clarinet constantly, and had to know when to cover up what hole at what time. Where the trumpet only has three little sticks that you hold down to form a note. Although I did only play for about 6 months, I can't say much.

 Re: Who plays an instrument?
Like all brass instruments with mouthpieces, the hard part is all in embouchure and not in fingerings. Its all in the lips.

 Re: Who plays an instrument?
Waffle I have to disagree with you on that. If anything the frenchhorn is the hardest instrument to play because the mouthpiece is so small.

 Re: Who plays an instrument?
I've played Trumpet and French Horn for band in public school. Trumpet is pretty hard because of how you have to move your lips, and French Horn is a smaller, but lower version of that... in theory they're almost the same instrument. But, from my experiences I'm inclined to agree with Pit_Stop.

 Re: Who plays an instrument?
I once dropped trou and turned around three times in the middle of the movie Drumline.
The theater applauded me. It was the highlight of the movie.

 Re: Who plays an instrument?
I played French Horn for 7+ years. Trumpet for jazz for a couple years. Mellophone for a year at ISU in marching band. For those who say trumpet is hard, french horn is even harder. Sure a lot of the fingerings are the same but you can't really change notes by simply moving your hand on a trumpet.
