Back to the first post: I'd kindly remind ppl (more often) that money doenst grow in trees, and outta hundreds of regulars a couple dozen could use the good ol' fashioned donation button. Yes, that one on the left.
I believe that if at least some 20+ regulars put just $10 bucks a month outta their pockets would be a lot easier on our great lord corpse.
Or until all other ideas extensively debated above start becoming profitable and cover the expenses...

(explanation: for CSS you can have certain people with certain access use special models (most seen on admins for servers))maybe something like a $5 donation allows you to have /use a special model for the month....

I know missy would jump at this if there was a girl model :P

and all it would take is a weekly/monthly modification to the access config file.

to make it easier the month could always begin at the start of the month. Say someone buys a model to use on the server on the 27th... they would have to wait till the first to use it... makes the work load easier on who ever is going to manage the config files

I would make banned people pay at least $20 to get unbanned you know! to make sure that they wont hack again cause ones they paid if they hax again theyr getting banned and lose their money! Plus I would make people buy an admin for about $15 bucks ! Not the whole admin just around cadet powers so they wont really abuse it you know!

If we're really concerned about money, why don't we just take Greater Bad's idea and implement google ads? You can put a few of them up and not be totally intrusive and they make money (more than charging money for admin at least...)

Yea. We tried and failed. Apparently we had too many violations of their ToS. We couldn't open another Google Ad account if we wanted to.

Made about $200 in a couple months though. Not bad.

Well if they wanted to play on our godlike server n00bfest that bad. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_08. They may as well buy a whole new Source for $20 then they can just play on n00bfest and all the other servers they got banned from.



Cadet is more than enough to abuse think about it slay...ban...I say no more except it would just be a pain for our higher admins that deal with unbanning ppl cause some prick will just ban everybody that comes into the server.

The other problem is, what about all of the other admins we currently have? Would we force them to pay in order to keep their admin powers? If we didn't, would it be fair to those that would have to pay now?

Well, there are other advertising companies other than Google...

you could write a contract where it states if they F*CK up anywhere with the admin powers they purchased, it could be revoked with out warning.

Means we would have to make a FAQ or README to clearly state the duties and what is considered(but not limited to) abuse.

From what I am reading, it looks like this community has grown so successful and large that you have simply run out of ideas for the time being and its just getting boring in a way.

Where other clans are struggling to get their name known, n00bfest is recruiting new players everyday.

I am guessing this scenario has happened before and its going to just take some time for Valve to make a new game that EVERYONE loves, or 1 day on the crapper you have a genius idea you implement and it recharges the energy level that was here before.




As for the money issue, I myself have only donated to the server once, so I am as much to blame as everyone else. But maybe you could possibly start a due's program.

As much as people will hate it at 1st, if you got 2-3 dollars from every regular here, that would easily pay for the servers and you would have extra to put towards upgrading N00bfest even more.

If people really thought about it, n00bfest has given you so much for free, what is 2 dollars or so once a month out of youre pocket really going to hurt?

You could help Corpsehumper continue revamping this server and providing you with a great community and lot's of great people and a great social networking for as much as it costs to buy a candybar youre fatass doesnt even need.

Think about it, is 2-3 dollars a month really going to hurt youre wallet? If it is, then you shouldnt be playing online games right now, you better be out asking youre boss at McDonalds for overtime shifts Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_21
