story NRA posted on fb. A farm tenant and his wife who were arrested after two suspected burglars were shot at their isolated home had been the victims of a number of robberies. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... k-ins.html

 Re: armed bystander stops stabbing
my friend has a Ruger 380 like that for protection, nice small, only thing i don't like is that there is no red-dot safety on them. I don't have a problem with concealed weapons i just want them super safe, unable to be fire upon accident. Sounds super gay, but when my friend handed me a gun with a loaded magazine, knowing that if i pulled back that slide, it would be one pull away from firing, and there is only one process to make the gun safe again. My grandfather once got stopped in Texas and the officer was carrying already C*CK gun like it was nothing.
^(rather than having multiple safeties that could instantaneously be engaged)

 Re: armed bystander stops stabbing
well, there is no safety for a reason, they are meant to be used it quick thinking situations during a life or death struggle, and a safety is one more step to prevent you from saving your own life. let me tell you that my ruger does NOT keep the hammer C*CK at all, so you have to really pull the trigger for it to shoot. not easy to pull it by accident. my .40 sig sauer, on the other hand, is a different story, but it's not a conceal carry pistol.

 Re: armed bystander stops stabbing
Spent my labor day at the range today, and love the hobby/sport of shooting. I would honestly love to have a permit to CCW, but I hear its so rare to get one in the bay area that I shouldn't even apply.
