True story, there was recently a bill going through Congress which would have required drug testing to receive government benefits like welfare but then one of the Congressmen decided to add-in an addendum which would have extended this testing to members of the government. The bill failed.

I don't see anything wrong with consuming something if it's a valid medical necessity (a gray area, honestly) for something like severe pain or because you are allergic to synthetic medications for maladies which can be treated with a natural substance. However, I have a great disdain for the behavior of just smoking to get high. F*CKING stupid. Even worse is when it becomes the norm and not just a treatment. I see it all the time, and I'm still friends with people who have this sort of behavior but I always make it known that I dislike it.

Just quit because obviously it's just a party thing.

Most jobs will test you if they are considering hiring you. The only other time they will test you is if you have an on the job injury. I'm surprised my job doesn't test, since I'm driving a company vehicle all over the place. But that doesnt matter, because I made the smart decision and quit almost 2 years ago. You should do the same. Smoking is fun and all, but it's just a phase you have to end at some point.

Kwang and Falcon are right(among many other people.) If smoking has just become a normal thing instead of just the occasional good time, you have some issues much larger than a simple UA to worry about. Been there, done that and I'm doing so much better now that I've left it behind.

The food service industry doesn't drug test, for the most part. I have never heard of any locally owned restaurants drug testing anywhere. Very few corporate owned places do too. Surprisingly, the only places I have heard of drug testing is some fast food places, like Subway.
Keep in mind though, if you are working in a kitchen and hurt yourself (i.e. burn or cut yourself real bad), the first thing they are going to do is make you pee in a cup. All of the insurance policies in place require drug testing. But like I said, only if you hurt yourself. Which does happen. I've worked in kitchens going on 10 years and I've cut the tip of my thumb off and burned myself pretty good a few times. Did home medicine though because I can't pass a drug test and it wasn't really that bad.

Got a friend to piss for me, did my trick(for keeping the right temp and transportation, and if you wanna know how just PM me), and passed with flying colors. Soon I will be managing a large corporate cellular retail store, as long as they don't F*CK me over in the last 2 of 5 phases/interviews.

Or that they perform better while they're high. Although your friend is doing well, that is extremely rare. Who knows, he cold have made 10 million if he was sober.

Yes, I used to smoke shit tons of pot daily. So I can't rag on anyone about doing it. But one thing I've noticed since I quit is that it was the one thing holding me back in life.

Especially given the social stigma, the legal maze and the psychologically addictive nature it's best to keep it down to the bare minimum or none at all even if you're 'prescribed'. I have like 45 different bodily/mental maladies which could easily get me a grow license and a dispensary permit and all that crap but I don't do it because I have learned how to mitigate my pain without being medicated.

In my experience, if a company doesn't drug test before hiring people, it is an undesirable job. But I guess if you applied at McDonalds and Burger King, you don't care much about that.

I was about to say the opposite. I've worked for 2 defense contractors, an automotive engineering firm, 2 restaurants (one chain, one private) and 2 photolabs while in highschool and have only been drug tested once, for one of the photolabs.

I always thought drug testing was for the less competitive/less narrow skilled jobs. But on the other hand, when interviewing for the NSA, you're polygraphed about any drug use for the past 7 years.

Those places there especially micky ds doesnt drug test same with most local gas stations, etc. If your going to try and work yourself into some high hour factory work or something along those lines. You will be drug tested most likely, my last job sent you to a hospital for drug and alcohol testing. Hope that helps.
