If you join a range, see if it has a CMP (civilian marksmanship program) which is a US Gov program. Really quite neat. If you get thru a CMP event, you earn the right to buy CMP gear such as surplus M1 garand rifles, etc. http://www.thecmp.org/... I will not be ordering myself an M1 because they're mostly for righties (which I'm not one of) and loading it is a pain in the ass. Other than that it's a neat rifle. How much is a surplus M1? I'm sorta interested in buying one... and as you know, I'll be headed up to Oregon this July.... Edit: OMG DUDE! http://www.thecmp.org/m1garand.htm. $1500 for the sniper model in good condition? FFUUUUUUUUU. Ok. I'm in. Here's the list of requirements, not sure if they apply to those auctions or not though. http://www.thecmp.org/eligibility.htm

Re: Does anyone else like to shoot at the Range?
I figure ill get used to the 308 first then step up to a 338 when im proficient. HAHA when i get a 338 its defiantly going to have a mussel break. I was thinking about the 300 mag over the 308 for the extra range, but for my first gun I dont think its worth the extra money for the rounds and a little more forgiving on my shoulder.

Re: Does anyone else like to shoot at the Range?
I dont know that Im legaly allowed to own a fire arm here since Im not a citizen. But I used to go shoot my SA80 at a range in Lakeland. These days, since I moved to Tampa and I dont trust the range owners here... it stays locked away for now. Im hoping to move somewhere less... populated where I can take it out again. But, the bummer is really getting the ammo for it. So, lol, Id have to find a gunshop who will order the rounds too.. lol. Oh well... Its a great rifle and accurate as hell, at lesat I think so. :-)
Ill have to see if I can find a pic of it somewhere.. Though a pic of me with a rifle Im not supposed to have is probably not a good idea. :-))

Re: Does anyone else like to shoot at the Range?
I believe that you do need to be a citizen for legally owning a gun, but maybe the rules differ from state to state. The local shooting range where I live requires that you be a citizen to be a member (ie just for using their shooting range). Then there is a whole bunch of paperwork, and owning one is 5 times the trouble. I think I'll just go somewhere in NJ or PA to find a "normal" shooting range.

go to vegas. http://www.thegunstorelasvegas.com/Quote: Do I need a special permit, license or experience to shoot on your range? No, as every customer is provided with a range instructor so just come on in and enjoy. Anyone, from any country, is welcome to shoot on our range.

When I get a big more spending cash later this year I'll go shooting again; a few years ago I would go every week. This is my gun http://tdsguns.com/store/product/7050/C ... ov-9-x-18/

Re: Does anyone else like to shoot at the Range?
I try and get to the range every now and then. Work kinda gets in the way though. Got myself a Sig Sauer P250 in 9mm. I also love to shoot clays. Remington 870 for that type of fun

Re: Does anyone else like to shoot at the Range?
I love to go shooting and try to get out as much as I can. I'm a pretty good shot with any gun too. And I usually never miss a shot at the trap range. Skeet Skeet! I've been shooting my new pistol the most though.
I currently own:
AK-47, 7.62x39mm with folding stock and quad rail. Mossberg 500A 12 Gauge pistol grip pump with folding stock, 8+1 capacity H&K USP .45 Auto Tactical
2 guns that are from CS, lol, I could post pics of anyone wants to see

Owning nubs in CS since the betas.

Aren't you suppose to shoot at targets? Not at the range?

Re: Does anyone else like to shoot at the Range?
I haven't shot in a while, but I need to start going again. I have a Sig Sauer P226 Blackwater Edition (9mm) and I've got a box with about ~900 rounds remaining so I really should start going again. My friends who I went with before have moved out of state, so time to find some new range buddies.

They let me bring outside ammo in also I don't know if they let me because I was military or if they do it for everyone but they have a good selection of guns and stuff you can rent from them to use on the range thou. If you dont wanna go to a range I would just drive all the way down north dale till you hit like land o lakes or springhill and shoot out in the woods over there.

Re: Does anyone else like to shoot at the Range?
.22 rifling is always the way to go Shorty. Try locating some banana clips at a local gun shop, they go for around 30 bucks and can fit 20-25 rounds. It's a lot more satisfying not having to reload constantly.

with that picture of the deer's head, "a world of pain" from the Big Lebowski comes into mind.
