Trumpet>Piano in most Jazz. I agree it plays a huge part.. but the lead trumpet player is what you base most of your articulation too, they play a huge role in jazz.

that trumpet is greater than piano in most jazz. Piano is practically the staple instrument in jazz, besides bass.

Yeah but the thing about the trumpet is it's not complicated, not like the clarinet which has 50 different finger pipes or whatever you want to call them. The trumpet has 3 finger pipes...

Not complicated? Are you crazy? It may only have 3 buttons but have you actually tried to improve tone or increase your range? Try double tonguing or triple tonguing. The fingerings are easy as F*CK.. The shit you do with your mouth is unreal..

Well Luff, you're damn wrong with the fact that trumpet>piano in jazz. You can form a jazzband with a piano and a singer only, but you can't really with only a trumpet. I mean, piano is everything, you can play what every other members of the band plays, and it's the lead player of a jazzband, and that's what I learn in the music program I'm in in college.

But you're right about the trumpet : it isn't easy to play. Yes the clarinet has 50+ finger pipes and shit, but you can do such hard things with a trumpet! though I'm more impressed when a musician does circular breathing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkA_pxHaNZQ) while playing the clarinet than any other trumpetist... that shit is incredible!

Anyway, Luff, stop doing unreal shit with your mouth.. it's not interesting here.

I can actually circular breathe on a clarinet..the feeling is more natural..I havnt figured out how to do it on my trumpet yet..
