i wish i lived in or around austin, because i'd go for that shit.

I do quality control and IT work for a company that makes industrial electrical equipment. I do computer help desk shit when it's needed, and QC work the rest of the time, but the QC work sucks. It's 90% boring-ass paperwork and 10% boring-ass incoming inspection. I'd much rather be working with computers all the time. But I kinda don't wanna leave because this job is pretty secure. We do a lot of business. During this past economic crisis we actually went up.
(quick aside) We're building units right now that go for about $1.3M apiece and it's a 4 unit order. I guess they're some big copper mining operation and our units are used for extracting the copper out of ore. Also, after 5 prototypes, we've been approved by the Navy to make the power supply's for the new E.M.A.L.S (Electro-Magnetic Airplane Launching System) that will be replacing the steam catapult system currently in use. The USS Gerald Ford that is currently under construction (and every aircraft carrier from now on) will have it. (/aside)
So, we're doing pretty good and I kinda don't wanna leave, but this QC shit sucks.

I am looking for an internship for the fall semester (August to December). I have leads through just about every avenue like facebook, linkedin and the school's division of professional practice. So I thought I would also try n00bfest. I am looking all over the nation but would prefer Texas, Alabama or Georgia. I currently live in Atlanta so that would be my first choice.
Ok, now for some background...

I am pursuing a bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. I am in my 5th year as an undergrad and I am looking for some experience in the Telecommunications field.

I have two years experience interning at a company that installs security and access control systems and CCTV surveillance.

I also have two years experience on a real world project within the engineering department. We are designing and installing a WiFi and Sensor Network at Bobby Dodd Football stadium at Georgia Tech. It is an interactive network that allows fans to instantly access replays during the games, see up to the second stats, play interactive games on the jumbotron and much more by connecting there smartphone to our network. It is a groundbreaking project that has only been rivaled by AT&T at the Cowboys stadium in Dallas. As a matter of fact our team of students won the bid against AT&T for our stadium.

I can program in Matlab, C and Java and I am familiar with drafting using CAD systems.

If anyone knows any contacts in the Telecommunications industry (AT&T, Verizon, Cisco, Comcast, Clear ect...) I would be eternally grateful if you could message me their contact information.
