i am the army outcast in hawaii. superbowl comes around and we all get the day off from PT. big event, and everyone gets involved, and lord help you if you enter a bar and your not wearing a jersey. its a fun and merry time and everyone loves life.

the stanlies come around, and there i am...alone...with my Detroit jersey spanking to a game that i can only watch through highlights on cnn at the chilies bar. when i leave i usualy get mugged a few times by hawaiian 3rd graders then get raped by several animals on the way home while contimplating to take the knife against my wrist "down the road" or "accross the street".

being an american, and being a fan of hockey... i would not wish this on my children.

Umm... a state IS a country. Thought an American would know at least that.... Guess they didn't print it on any McDonald's cups. ^.^

On a note about hockey. Pretty funny that the Americans here, while jokingly doing it, are rather sore losers :P Canada own hockey, in fact, you can't say the word without being taxed to Canada. hehe

Asshole, Hawaii is a state, he didn't specify if he was referring to his state (states that make up the country) or state as in the country, don't give this "Since I'm an American I have no clue about the world" bullshit, I haven't even been in this country in the past 5 years I've been overseas seeing shit.

If he was in a different state (ex:North Dakota) in the country he might find a better fan base for the sport.

and referring to my "state? you mean country" comment I mean't more that it wasn't his states issue but the country's issue, this country isn't a big hockey state really, its more quite regional than anything else.

I used to respect Ron Wilson (Team USA coach and Toronto Maple Leafs Coach) until I heard him say that bullshit about "The best team doesn't always win.". What kind of horse shit is that?
Then recently he blamed the loss on the ref who stopped the puck along the boards. It's part of the F*CKING game buddy. Refs get in the way in every sport, live with it.
Ok I'm gone ranting.
Yay Canada!

I think there are definetly sports that the US dominates, though I don't agree that cycling is one of them. Lance Armstrong is arguably the most regognizable cyclist in the world. In my mind though cycling is dominated by Europeans.

The bottom line is that Canada won the big game and the American hockey fans will just have to accept that until 2014 (when they will lose again).

Swimming? One guy does not constitute national domination, if you counted all swimmers Austraila kicks ass in swimming. Basketball is North American and a few European countries not alot and baseball is played in japan and th Dominican, wow international. Niether of those are bigger internationally then hockey and you don't dominate in baseball, just basketball because nobody cares for the sport outside the US. So far Fail!

If that happens then the new "northern states" will beat the "southern states". Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_02
