If you can't ride a motorcycle that has a manual transmission, you have no business operating any vehicle with less than four wheels. I'll go even further with that: if you can't drive a four-wheeled vehicle with a manual transmission, you don't belong on anything with less than four wheels. Manual transmissions are just all-around better. You have more control over your torque and power, you get better fuel economy, and you don't look like a HOMOSEXUAL if you've got a manual transmission. I do not, have not, and will not any time in the near future own* a vehicle with an automatic transmission -- especially one on two/three wheels.

Note: the van has an automatic transmission, but that's not my daily driver -- it's a project car for the lulz so it doesn't count. If Ford had made them in manual, we would've opted for that.

Grasshopper story: I was going like 80-90mph and got hit in the chest by a grasshopper the size of a Boeing 747 the other day. Not only did it knock the shit out of me and hurt like a motherfucker, it splattered brown goo and bits of exoskeleton all over my chest and arm. It looked like I was eating carne guisada while drunk, and puked all over myself. It was amazing.

I agree with the comments made about standard transmissions, but for some who live in the city I can see why they would opt for an automatic. That is as long as they do not knock on the standard transmission and hopefully their weekend car contains one.

Well you see...I compare standard vs automatic transmission to programming using assembly language vs c#/vb.net. Sure, you get all the power you want with assembly, but it won't be the convenience of a high level language :) Where's c++ in all this? Semi-automatic of course!
