Using the taser the first time was over the top. Since when do cops reach for the tazer first when the cuffs will do? It's happening more and more because tazing someone is considered ok. Repeatedly tazing him and then demanding he stand or move is total bullshit, the effects of the taz take time to wear off, and there is no reason to taze someone when they're obviously subdued. Either arrest him or let him go. Tell him to leave and if he doesn't move in that direction, then arrest him and let the courts sort it out.

That video isn't even from the best angle or showing what happens beforehand so how do you know he didn't try anything like hitting the officer before hand?

I think it was admin abuse (power abuse), but the guy still is required to leave. They just did it the wrong way. I mean, there were about 5 officers there at the end? they still tazed him. Normally, he would be carried off. I don't know if it was racist or not, it was just a bad call on the part of the officer. He should be removed from the police force because he's issuing more detrimental effects than simply arresting the guy. And I think ubernoob said he can't move after being tazed, so whether this guy missed out on his "life" education or he's just a F*CKING moron is beyond me.

WTF? Where did I say anything about it being racist? I said nothing about the cop's motivation, but I'll say now he was totally unprofessional. I said the cop should have been able to take the guy without the taser, and once the taser was used, he should have been cuffed and booked. The taser is akin to using the billy club.

If the dude did something to warant using the taser, (neither of us know for sure) it follows he should be under arrest. What this cop did is so freaking unprofessional it's beyond belief. If you're a cop and you tazer me and don't have a valid arrest following it, I'll own whatever organization you belong to.

How many cops were there? The dude wasn't violent in any of the parts of the vid I saw, in fact he looked pretty damn well subdued to me. The cops should have cuffed his ass and hauled him out to the car, and booked him instead of zapping him repeatedly and telling him to leave.

Listen guys i need to clear up the tazer myths yall seem to believe. First of all the tazer is the worst pain you will ever feel in your entire life, I have been tazed. I was required to be tazed for my job, I too am a police officer. But this myth about needing time to recover from the taze is bull crap. As soon as the tazer stops it is over and you have full mobility and control back of your body. So don't think you need time to recover cause thats is a crock of crap. Officers have died from people they just tazed and turning their backs on them cause the person had a gun on them and shot them cause the effects of the taze are gone as soon as the cop lets go of the trigger.
