to suggest which mouse I should buy. I don't want to spend more than $75 and I want to buy it locally. My deathadder is dying on me. The mouse3 (down-click on scroll wheel) button went out, and now it's not registering all of my clicks. Needless to say, I can't countar-strakez or battalfeldz without it recognizing every click. I'm leaning toward another deathadder 'cause I friggin' love this mouse and we had a good run. I've had it for almost 3 years now.

p.s. this totally happened yesterday: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/55866 ... 50ED007FB/

(and before anyone says stax/teamscores, I switched teams at least 3 times during that match)

The g500 is actually reasonably nice. I got mine for $50 on amazon. Should be able to find it anywhere as well.

However if you're already set on razer products I'd stick with them. Different ergonomics between them, logitech, steelseries and the rat mice.

I really enjoy razer. I've been using the lachesis with a 3g laser and 4000 dpi. all for 79.99 at the time. It since has been upgraded to 5600 dpi. for the same price and it is an ambidexterous incase you are left handed.

Too easy.

Just stick with the Razer if you like it. If you switch you'll spend the next week tweaking settings to get the "feel" right and just wish you had your old mouse.

Yup, even though I hate most Razer products, if you like it and it's a quality mouse, get another one.

I agree with staying with the Razor simply because it's something you like and are used to. However if you want something new I love the one that Strange got me last year, the Logitech Mx518. And it's available at the house for you to try out. Just saying.

As much as I hate Logitech products, I might go with the MX518 because it gives you the ability to switch sensitivity on the fly, which would be nice for BFBC2 (and potentially BF3) vehicles.

Personally, I'd stick with the Deathadder if I were you. I have both the Deathadder and the MX518 sitting right in front of me. The Deathadder just fits in your palm better. Even the material feels more comfortable. It seems to respond much better. IMO it is just a much better mouse all around. I have to give the 518 credit. It is still a very comfortable mouse, but they are completely different, and it is going to take a bit of getting used to. To me it just seems like a bad idea to switch. I used the 518 for about 6 years, and switching to the deathadder was a definite upgrade. So to me you would be downgrading. But it is all up to you. Everyone plays differently and has their own style, so it's what fits you. I just had to give you my opinion since the 2 you're choosing between are the only 2 I have ever liked.

Good luck on your decision, but i'm going to leave you with a "Stick with the Deathadder, switching to the 518 is just a hassle that's all for nothing really."

It's apples and oranges. I've used both a Boomslang (death adder internals) and a 518 as well as the actual deathadder, and it's like once you get beyond a certain point, dpi doesn't really seem to make a difference, it's just a matter of how you like to hold/use the mouse. One point in razer's favor however, is that logitech mice seem to be put together cheaply. I've broken countless logitech mice, including several 518's and g5's within a few months to a year, as the little poles that hold up the component boards are easy to break if you click on a button hard enough during a fire fight. I have yet to break a razer mouse. The 518 still feels comfortable to me though, from a tracking perspective and that is why I still use it.

High dpis are glitchy at best. I use 400 on my g500. And I switch that up only to use tanks and shit in bfbc2. I wasn't a fan of the mc518 or the g400. They seemed slow in my hand. I sent back the g400 after like a day.

The most important factor in choosing a maximum dpi is the way you tend to play. If a mouse's tracking capability at say, 400dpi is just as precise as another mouse (or the same mouse) at 1093240234 dpi (by precise, I mean that it doesn't 'skip'), it's more of a matter of the in-game/windows sensitivities you're using and whether or not you're an arm or a wrist player, and to what degree you do move those appendages, along with how fast you tend to move the mouse in various situations. But I digress, the issue here is more about what kind of mouse gman ought to purchase, and it seems to be that, as others have stated, it's a very personal decision.

I will always recommend Razer mice now. I got this Razer Salmosa on woot for $13.37 and it is the best quality, most accurate and durable mouse I've ever used. Very comfortable, too.
