That one...like an hour...and any laptop that has the shit to be able to at least play the games you want, they're only going to last maybe 2 hours if that.

True dat, but unfortunately I needed a laptop for college (it was required by my department) so I just consolidated all my needs into a laptop and got something that is beefy...and overpriced.

Personally price wise Chocopie you really should just stick with anything ASUS.

Pretty much really, you'll be able to do assignments and make it last a class, but if you wanna game plug it in. I do the same with mine.

Oh keep in mind that you're going to be carrying at least 8 pounds around when you do get a "gaming" laptop

mine is 13 pounds...which sucks to carry it around Chicago O Haire Airport from Concourse F to Concourse A...and around campus.

Doubtful...

See with laptops and gaming it really isn't meant to be, there are a few guys that will F*CKING go on days how gaming on a laptop is just queerish. But it can be efficiently done, the issue is the price to be buy the hardware to be able to run games especially from current times. I can't see anything running Starcraft 2 quality graphics for no less than maybe 950 if that, and even than anything less or at that price is a risk.

The Alienware m11x is a nice piece of hardware...yes a bit spendy if you go full blown and do the i7 package (you'll have to if you want a chance) you're going to be spending the same amount of money on an 11inch super laptop than you would on that 17 inch ASUS I showed you (with the config I did it's 1200 for the Alien)

I would put more money that you'd have a better time running Starcraft on the ASUS than on the M11x. I am an Alienware consumer (I own a m17x) and I'm telling you penny for penny that ASUS 17 inch could come quite close to mine if not surpass it (at least in processor power) than my system which was a good 1K more (I'm self bashing my own brand but hey it has it's definite faults).

With the battery life of the m11x, yeah it might say it last that long..but I bet you start gaming and playing something on par with starcraft that battery life is going to go to the shitter. There is no plausable laptop (that I know of) where you're going to be able game for standard what...2-4 hour session without having to have an AC adapter. The power needed to process shit these days needs dedicated power.

I'm saying stick with ASUS if you want something to do an all around laptop, i would never virtually see me wanting to spend the time I do on a PC on an 11 inch ever.

Do you know what you'll be running in college? Cause to tell you the truth...dealing on your situation and if your price range is still maxed at a K..you could be lucky and do a desktop and with like 300 bucks left over get a small laptop to take to class and such on. Unless you're doing virtualization work and simulaters than yeah you're going to need a computer a bit more beefy that will take most of your funding away.
