hey i just learned by my cable distributor that i blowed the 20 gig download limit... since this last tuesday... weird fact is that the only thing i do with internet is play css, watch youtube vids, and SOMETIMES download a lil something, like this week i downloaded the live stevie wonder show, but damn, its only 4 gig, and its the only thing i downloaded in the entire month...

so im fucked right now, is there a way to know if i'm hacked or some1 is stealing my internet or somethin' like that cause i know i didnt download for more than 6 gig this month and my cable distributor told me for the fifth time this year that i blowed the 20 gig limit... help needed to investigate on this plzz

its either i pay this shit and keep blowing the limit or i don't pay any of this and my mom stops paying for the god damn internet (cuz she doesnt use comps at all...)

well for some1 that only watchs movies on his laptop and just watch vids on youtube, 20 gig is enough, the only prob is that i shouldnt be blowing it by doing these 2 only things...

Watcing youtube videos takes quite a bit, figure that a good 30 minute clip dealing on quality can be just around 150MB or more (I'm guestimating because a 30 minute porno from tube8 usually is around 150MB or so). 20 gigs these days on the internet is nothing.

Now for how much CSS takes I couldn't give a good deal on how much bandwidth per hour that takes up.

Here's are a bunch of main questions:
Do you have a wireless router?
If so, what kind of security do you have on it?
Second: Look through the computer's harddrive.. any missing space? Is your windows folder "extra" big?

When I was using an ISP with a download cap, I just used the college pcs to do all the heavy downloading. 20 GB / month is a bit too much though. Don't you have other ISPs there?

Poor LECoq and I live in Canada where on one hand we have superior health care then you Americans but we in the end suffer on other fronts. You see our internet providors butt F*CK our federal and provincial governments for them to look the other way while they rape us customers. The F*CKERS all work in unison to keep the prices high and the same for all providers and then seriously limit our services. If you want the kickass plan you have to pay for it but in LeCoq's case he has basic to cable light package and it has a 20gig limit. I have a high speed regular and it's a 60gig limit and my buddy skips t.v. cable and gets the business plan for a $100 a month with unlimited downloads and watches t.v. that way. So there, now you know how fucked up our Canadian internet providors are and don't get me started on our cell service up here. Also I forgot that the government also divided up the area's so you don't have much selection of which providor you want, it's who services your area for cable. You don't like the cable providor then you can go through the phone line with someone else but only one cable providor for your area.

well i just called the cable compagny, they told me i downloaded a 4gig video (stevie wonder) and a 3 gig shit (sony vegas), and the 13 gig left is some youtube shit and other random videos watched online...

personaly i just cant F*CKING believe it, how can uwatch for 13 gig of videos online in a month... i should try to find how much mb it takes when u play css for like an hour, an1 knows?

that sucks man, i would buy a receiver and try and steal neighbors interwebs if they arent protected, that way you can use up all their shit first

yeah i stole my neighboor's internet for a while til he set a password (how smart...) but yeah finaly im not hacked, just the company that F*CKING steals my money... i kinda live in a small town (like a village), and we got only 1 ISP over here... yeap, so the prices are, and i really mean it, F*CKING high... so that sucks and i wanna die cuz my mom (im only 19 and still at school = free food and house, F*CK off) said she'd stop paying for internet if it blew the download limit again... so im kinda fucked...

negligible amount... i suggest getting a bandwidth monitor application, there's a ton of them out there for free :P
