So fomenta and I are working on the new version of n00bfest.com, which will roll out in a couple of days.

After it launches, there will be no access to kill-stats for the immediate future, but we'll get them up and running within a month (and actually updating properly, too).

The current site has the following links:

- Home - It's a news page that's pulled from an "announcements" board on the forums, complete with the ability for users to add comments to news posts via replying to the announcement thread.
- Forum - It will be phpbb3: the updated version of what we're currently running. There's a "report post" feature that will allow users to report spam/useless posts to cut down on the BS that gets posted around here. There are tons of other features that will be added to the forum as we go along, too. I'm sure everybody will be impressed.
-Sign Up - This page consists of information on signing up to be a n00b and a link to sign up on the forums.
- Servers - a real-time server monitor + ventrilo monitor, plus IPs and whatnot.
- Admins - a list of all n00bfest admins/staff and their ranks.
- Contact - a page saying who you contact for what
- Donate - a page that shows our donation goal, this month's donors, and an all-time ranking of donors to n00bfest
- FAQ - ....a faq.


So, folks, what features (aside from killstats) would you like to see added to the website? I realize that most of you haven't seen the new site yet, but you've now got an idea of what's going to be on it. What else should we add?

Humm gman, how about you try and get like the gmails chat option, like, the message inbox its great but sometimes i dont know, you feel like you want to chat with some fellow n00bfest member, for example you see vision online, and you talk to him, we do know that he doesnt add you to his steam friends that easy, so there you have it, easy for you and for him, he doesnt have to commit to something with you while having you on his steam friends, or for example i dont have aim and i sometimes want to chat with steve or jerry, etc etc, its just an idea.

Yes, Fomenta has been kind enough to make a number of migration scripts for this and everything should be transferred over with no problem.

Yes. That's why fomenta was recruited to help. He's a php/mysql wizkid. As I recall, he stated "php and mysql are my bitches. They do what I want." Php is the language in which the forum is written, and mysql is the database system that stores all of the forum data/posts/accounts/etc. We've (i say we.. lol. he's been doing all the work on it) been working on the mysql migration and have just about got it down perfectly.

Everything will remain in-tact. All forums. All posts. All usergroups. All accounts. All PMs. Everything. Even uploaded avatars will survive the migration.

I know we all know about the sub-clans but maybe there could be something about the groups that new people could see. Let them know what they are about and who is apart of them and how they could be if they make it into n00b. When your new even the simpliest things can be foriegn (like Gin).

Maybe a sub-clan ranking from in house scrims and a roster for each sub-clan is an idea.
