Post Anyone seen this Ergodex keyboard?
Was browsing through Dell's website and came across this keyboard

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/prod ... u=A0643515

So you've got 25 or so keys at your disposal that can be placed ANYWHERE on the pad. Not that I need it, but how many countless hours could be spent just placing keys at random spots and seeing how it works out? Each key is programmable (AMAZING!) and they come with a shitload of stickers to mark the keys. I so semi-want one.

This guy did a review on the thing in '05 so either I suck at finding these cool things, or they suck at advertising.

Oh yeah, and is it me or does Dell's service and delivery methods SUCK?

I dunno man, I'm so use to the standard keyboard that I'd probably play like a retard if I used that.

I would just set all the keys to look like my current key board.

I would do what anal chow mein would do.

I had a friend who worked in Dell customer service. They suck, big time. They have a lot to improve on.

Staying on topic, that just amazes me that you can put a key anywhere and assign it to anything.

Back to Dell: I ordered a laptop a week ago, found a hidden link that brought me to a better laptop for like $30 more but if I built the same exact system in the manner I used for my first purchase, it ended up being $150 more. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_25 k...

So I cancelled my first order, having to call that in and ordered the new one. 4 days pass and it's still in processing so I call them AGAIN and they tell me it's on hold. After I call. So were they just gonna let it sit there forever and not tell me? WTF DELL?

Yesterday it cleared and now the estimated delivery time is in A F*CKING MONTH...HOLY SHIT. And none of the parts I ordered with it are on backorder (or so I was told after I called a third time). How is that F*CKING possible? I'll probably take my business elsewhere if that doesn't update itself within a couple days.

Yo necesito el laptopio pronto.

I received my laptop two weeks earlier than the estimated arrival date that I was given, so you might be lucky like me. :o

Cancel it NOW. My Dad ordered a camera from a Dell catalog and they sent him a ETA or a couple days. So a few days pass and he emails them and they tell him it's on backorder for almost a month. He attempts to cancel it and they tell him "No". He had to threaten legal action just to get a $150 camera order canceled.

Do not order anything from Dell. They are, by far, the worst company I've ever had to deal with (2 comps dead in less than a year). You can find better deals if you shop around.

Oh, and a Dell laptop will overheat. 100%.

I bought a Dell XPS M1530 here at Mexico and the Antillas, they took 1 month to make the delivery which sucked, but when i talked to them, they gave me an excuse that is like 100% percent proof of failure, since they tell you that the chipset is damaged and that if that laptop hits production it will probably burst in flames, i knew they where liying but i carried on with OK FINE.

The cool thing is that the total cost of the laptop whas originally 1,800 dollars, but i called the 01-800 service and a salesmen was attending me, so i came out with the history that i had a cupon (which i had) but practically whas done for january, and then he told me that the cupon whas done since january (obviously), but i told him, that i would call later and that if not available i would bought the laptop from another salesmen, he then agreed to review the status of the coupon, and guess what?, i got a 30% off my laptop.

So the final price including the 3 year Dell full service an guarantee for 1,500 (including shipping and handling).

I don't know, I've kinda trusted them up until now. Couple family members and my parents have XPS desktops which have been working fine for a couple of years now no problem.

Well, one of my items just shipped today and was scheduled to ship Friday, I'll just wait. They need to get their shit together though. I've never seen estimated shipping dates that far off. It's not even estimated with them, it's like some guy sitting in a room throwing out random dates.

My mom owns a Dell desktop, the CD drive in it went bad after about 2 months and hardly works now (at the very least it can't burn discs anymore). I've heard about others having issues with Dell CDROM drives as well.

As for the keyboard, I'd do the same thing as Anal Chow Mein and just arrange it like a regular keyboard. It looks nifty though.

that keyboard looks sweet. i would use it as a secondary keyboard for gaming, so it would only have the keys i wanted for the game(s) i play.

also, my buddy was telling me about another small keyboard that is made for gaming that is way smaller than a traditional keyboard. it would be sweet to have more room on my desk to move my mouse around

either you did or i did. I've known about this keyboard before it went to retail. It's always been too expensive for me to justify it and at one point when I decided to max out another credit card I found out it's not supported in vista64.

They do have another similar keyboard now that is compatible with vista64 and technically you can connect 16 of these things up to the same computer. why? i have no F*CKING clue. Don't be fooled by the picture it doesnt really look that cool. They advertise it to the hardcore flight sim crowd and allow you to slide your own 'C*CK' designs underneath the glass.

P.S. Dell sux, build your shit.
