Post Need Car Stereo Advice
I know we've got a lot of AV nerds and car nerds on here -- I'm neither.

I'm thinking about buying an in-dash (double-DIN height) stereo w/ GPS. I prefer Garmin GPS navigation 'cause I had one (gave it to my mom), but am open to anything as long as it doesn't suck.

I want it to have:

- A large touchscreen
- MP3 and WMA playing capability
- SD card slot that supports lots of storage (at least 8gb)
- 3.5mm stereo-in
- Bluetooth hands-free calling
- Extremely feature-rich GPS (traffic etc would be preferred)

Budget: preferably under $800.

I'll be looking to buy this some time in December, probably. I just want to start looking now so I know what I'm doing.

Start your research at Crutchfield. They generally have fit kits specific to your car, include instructions, and wont sell you something they don't have a kit for.

The only shitty thing is, the instructions tend to be off in 1 or 2 places. I got lucky and had my service manual for my Durango so I was able to work around the crutchfield instructions.

AND, I'm horrid at AV stuff too, so if I can do it you sure as shit can, mr. kegerator.

I don't want a flip-out screen. That's one of the no-nos. A flip-out screen is just something else that will break. I want a built-in touchscreen like this:

As well as mindless i could help you install your indash stereo. The very best one out their right now would be the Pioneer Avic-Z110BT my dad bought it for around 950. I know this slightly above your budget but this is the very best one.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... dition=new

On the other hand a very good and cheap one that covers all the ares your looking into is the Pioneer AVIC-U310BT. its around 250$
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVIC-U310 ... B002FL4XL4
and im pretty sure this is one is carried at frys. Which is off of parmer.

Make sure your car can fit a double din head unit -- mine can't fit a double din stock so I had to modify it -- but there was an easy enough kit for it. But yea, double-din is what you want to know about

Mmmm, sexy snatch that one for sure. Are ou hooking up any amps and subs or anything? I imagine you probably don't listen to much hip-hop but a good setup will make your favorite music sound awesome.

No amp/subs. I honestly don't like listening to loud music unless it's live.

Thats a sweet price for that head unit just keep in mind it's a refurb so you only get a 90 day warrenty but to be honest if its going to fail it will most likely do it right away so i wouldnt be to concerned about it.
