I've decided to write this little "tutorial" because i realized many people don't really know what the Journal Module is for and it's potential.

The whole idea of this module if for the registered users
to have their own space within our web-site to write their things such as stories, vacations time, family pictures, etc...
and share with whoever they wanted as long as the information is saved as "Public".

You can have as many Journal entries as you wanted and at the end all this information start to be like your own
diary.

The journal module with some limitation can be used like a "Blog" or "MySpace" if you will. I say with some limitations
especially because it is not as user friendly since you have to know a little bit of HTML to be able to add images/pictures
exactly like you do on the forums.

Here are some steps on how to use this module and how it will look like to others when you start using it.

First how to access the Journal Module:

1 - Go to your account using the block "Site Navigation" menu under "Members" or just use the buttons on the main header.

2 - Once you access your account you will see the screen below, then you just click on the Journal icon as shown.



After that you will get the screen below:



From the screen above you will be able to see all the Journal entries you already have or add a new one.

Adding a new Journal entry:

If you click on add a new Journal entry the following
screen will appear:



You have to add a Tittle for the Journal and the text you would like to share with you friends and family.

At this point is where you need a little HTML knowledge to be able to add pictures but this is really not a big deal.

You can just use the following command to do that:



After you have typed your text and added your images/pictures and saved you will have a result that can
be like that one below:



Remember this is just an example I did but you can create the way you like and customize the way you see fit.

Sharing the Journal

You will be able to share it with other people using the screen below:



Your name and e-mail comes automatically. You just need
to add your friend name and e-mail and he will receive an
e-mail like this one below:



So he just click on the link and will go directly to you Journal.
Another good thing is that people can actually place
comments about your Journal so you will know if they liked.

If you start using it you will learn how to take advantage of this great module
and at the same time you have a place to share your stuff and

Is there a way to shortcut to a person's journal? Can I make a journal and then setup a redirect for corpse.n00bfest.com and have it go directly to that journal? That would be cool.

If not, is there another module or program that would give our members some "myspace" of their own that would be easy for them to link?

I don't know if I really understood what you meant here but every time you create a Journal it will have an ID like any topic on the forms.

So let's say i forward my personal domain to a Journal a have created like that for instance www.sossai.com it will go to that Journal where the domail is forwarded to.
