In an attempt to get more players for minecraft, i've posted our server on http://mcserverlist.net/.

We need to go ahead and invoke a whitelist, or just have admins on stand-by to ban trolls if need be.

Feel free to go to that site and vote for the server!

Setting up a whitelist is actually really simple. The only thing we would need to do is actually get all the names from the previous whitelist topic and probably sticky a new one and update it with everyone that's been playing since the last post on it, if anyone hadn't posted there before. It would also give people more of an incentive to check out the site, see if we're the type of people they'd wanna touch butts with, and sign-up.

LOL, just realized the old one is a sticky. SO yeah, we'd just have to update that topic then and actually set up the whitelist which is fairly simple as stated before.

Apparently we have to be on the watch for assholes now. Adam's Cartman was apparently griefed according to some idiot that was in the server. Why do the first people that come have to be the derps?

I don't get it, on one hand you want more people so you advertise it for randies, but on the other, you want a whitelist (which will prevent randies from joining). Seems kind of conflicting.

So the question is, do you want randies in the server and have to either (a) deal with griefing or (b) work to make sure greifing is limited through the use of plugins, or not?

So, I've also notated on the description of our server that they people joining can sign up at n00bfest.com to become whitelisted.

We're not turning people away, we're just doing a preventative measure to keep every asshole from joining and face-fucking everything with their butts then leaving.

We may look into more plugins if necessary.

Yeah, I've already found something for doing somewhat of an MOTD/news things which would be cool to get going. Can set it up real easy and it can be reloaded without restarting the server. Checking out a whitelist plugin that can reload as well, but trying to see if there's one with a custom message to say something about signing up at n00bfest.com. Sure there's some that will work, but it's trying to find one that works and is being kept up to date that is a pain.

I finally broke down and bought it. Sign me up
