So, BF 3 just stopped working.
What happens, I get to the battlelog, click on a server and it starts loading. It gets to the screen with the picture of whatever map is about to be played...then, it tries to switch to the deploy/squad/etc page and freezes right before it gets there.
Uninstall/reinstall didn't work. Drivers are up to date. Nothing has changed on my computer at all. Just, BLAM, stopped working. Looking for a solution in all the thousands of "My shit is broke, help me EA!" is a joke, too many of em and no real solutions.

Re: So, BF 3 just stopped working.
I had some serious probs kinda like that with my vid card & resolution settings. were you messing w/your resolution or graphics settings beforehand?
Anyway an uninstall won't necessarily remove your config options. I think I dug around, found where the config file was, backed it up & deleted it. Then things went back to default and I was able to get into the game.
Hope that helps some.

him and I worked together and it seems to be deeper of an issue than just with BF3...he's having system wide issues with his video card if not more as he can't even get CS:S to run properly.

Coach, what type of video card do you have? because Nvidia released a newer version of drivers. I was still using the beta and it started crashing my desktop.
I was actually about to make a post about this
edit: i actually thought the beta was the newest until today, but im retarded

Re: So, BF 3 just stopped working.
It's got to be a deeper issue as I've worked with him and we've tried pretty basic stuff. He runs two 9800GTX
-New and old drivers, clean installed everytime
-New motherboard chipset drivers
-reseated the card
-checked for anything eerie in the nvidia control panel.
So far I haven't been able to come up with anything that has solved what is described as frequent freezes in CS:S and unplayability in BF3. Also he has issues with Windows looking off. One thing that does cause concern is that while he states that he has two cards in SLI but both in the Nvidia control panel and device manager there is only one card list. I am stumped to figure if it's at heart an OS issue or a mobo or video card malfuction..
Reading this now I think it could be something on the ends of mobo if the SLI isn't working.

Yank the SLI bridge and one card and see if it'll launch.

Re: So, BF 3 just stopped working.
Yeah with my 2x-9500 setup I would yank one and be able to launch BF3 (not playable by any means, but it started up and went into the game) when I had probs. Didn't have to adjust SLI settings or anything, the computer would just work.
Sounds like it's a 3d-accel problem. If you can see the screen through the card you know at least the port and mobo are working somewhat. When the 3d kicks in something goes bad.
