Post FPS problem :\
Hi...I run source at 299 frames perfectly, then after 1-2 hours of playing it drops down to like 50fps. Im confused on why its doing this, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I use a AMD Phenom II x4 965 as my CPU.
I also use a Nvidia 550ti as my video card.

sounds like a Heat issue?
Have u checked your temps?
Also make sure your Psu is not going bad and slowly killing your card

Other than that try Updating the drivers fro your Mobo chipset and video card

See thats what i figured, over heating.
But I checked his temps and they were okay a little high but nothing crazy.
The PSU should be okay, i mean the PC is new. But once he shuts off the PC and waits a little it fixes itself for a little.
Ill check on drivers.
My next option would be a new heatsink.

Have you dusted out the computer with a can o' air, or air compressor?

Also the temps was it @ idle or under load?

I would try updating drivers.

If that doesn't work, I would re-seat the video card.

It's also possible the video card could be going bad. I had a ATI card that did something similar, and it turned out that a memory module was corrupted. If you have a spare video card I would switch it out and see if you get the same issue.

It's your power supply. It's always your power supply.

The video card that was bad for me, was a replacement from another ATI card it was brand new, Factory Sealed. It is rare, but it can happen.

I hope that it is not the card, but it is possible.

Also,

Check to make sure you are suppling enough power to the vid card. I had a friend do that and killed a new card buy under powering it, he thought there was only the one power plug and missed the second one.

Not even joking, check to make sure you have enough thermal paste on your CPU...fixed mine.

Or take another approach, if all of that checks out fine then maybe a memory leak?
