So...the other day I tried to hook my computer up to my 51inch flat screen and so I had moved my computer into my living room. When I booted it up, I got a diskette error right at the beginning of the boot process. It asked me if I wanted to continue, or go into BIOS setup. Now I am afraid to reboot my computer as I am not sure if it will come back up properly. After moving it back where it was(didn't like playing on a 51inch screen), it continues to give me the same error. It will boot just fine, but right at the beginning of the boot process it gives me this error

Diskette Error 0(i think, i can't remember exactly) Would you like to continue?

WTF IS THIS SHIT? Is my HDD dying? My comp is about 4yrs old, I haven't had to replace 1 thing on it the entire time. I got an USB external HDD from a buddy and am backing up all essential files in case this shit craps out on me. Any idea what could be going on? If you need detailed info I can try and reboot it again to write down exactly what it says, but if I'm not mistaken, that was everything that it said.

My Boot order is CD, HDD, so I changed it to just HDD and the error continues.

have u checked all your internal connections?
moving a computer can cause one of the cables to come loose or unplugged and you will get an error message. Make sure all your connections are proper, if you have a floppy disk this is likely the culprit, if not set your boot order to hdd first (i see you've done that).

also try disabling the floppy drive in the bios and see if the issue resumes.

Check the system time in the BIOS, if your CMOS battery is dead and you unplugged the system, the time will be wrong. You'll have to reset all of your BIOS settings and try again.

I'm wondering if it did die. When I brought it back into my room the time/date were incorrect.

If the CMOS battery died is it that important at all? It has been restarted since then and still pops up with the error, but is keeping the time properly.

A dead cmos battery means your mobo forgot the previous bios values and can't remember new ones if you unplug it. If you had to set tjhe bios to get your system working, you'll havr to set them again
