http://www.iishacks.com/2011/06/23/reduce-windows-7-winsxs-folder-size/

This trick shaved off about 5+ gigs of unnecessary installation files hidden in the C:\Windows\winsxs folder. The trick only seems to work with SP1 installed but it does work.

My recommendation is when you type "cmd" in the search bar of the start menu, that you right-click on the 'cmd.exe' link and then click 'pin to start menu'. Makes things easier for every time you need to use cmd.

Ya, still trying to trim back as much as I can, my SSD is 90gb and it only had 30gb free after doing the winsxs fix. I checked my Program Files and Program Files(x86) folders but those only equal about 18gb and my Windows folder is still at 15gb but still trying to figure out where all that other space went, that's less than 40gb so I wanna figure out where the other 20gb went. I put all of my images and videos and music on my HDD and now I'm like WTF? The extra partition for system files is only like 100mb so that's not it either.

[edit:] Just cleared another 3.7 gigs by running CCleaner.
