Video Card WOes
So I picked up a GTX 560 that's overclocked.
Hooked it up and the fan blows (F*CKER is LOUD) but I get no picture on the monitor at all.
This is probably the first time I've switched out vid cards myself in years.
Help me please, I would like to play BF3.

Re: Video Card WOes
Did you plug it in to the PS properly? You'd be surprised on how many people forget that simple thing.

Re: Video Card WOes
^ Definitely check that...don't be offended for us asking, even I've done it a time or two!
If you plug in your other video card, does it work? Do you have another system that you could try the 560 in?
If the fan is running at full speed when you boot it up then it's probably either a dead card or the power isn't plugged in all the way. My GTX 260, 250, and 550 did that when not plugged in. I'm not positive but I think my AMD 68xx and 69xx cards do the same thing when not plugged in, too.

Re: Video Card WOes
If the fans are working and you aren't getting anything either 2 possibilities. 1. (as stated above) make sure all the connections are proper and reseat the GPU. 2. The GPU is faulty and you should exchange it for another.

Re: Video Card WOes
Yeah, you'll either have a 4-or-6-pin power connector on the card itself or on the motherboard next to the PCIe slot. Make sure that F*CKER is plugged in.

dirkdeagler wrote: are all connectors equal? I just find 2 free ones and plug away? still not having much luck. They're all 12v DC as far as I know. Look for a stray 4-or-6-pin connector (either like this :: or like this ::: but not like this ....) that will fit and give it a whirl.

Re: Video Card WOes
my gtx 570 took 2x 6 pin connectors, I also had to disconnect 2 of my 4 hard drives to get it to post (Antec 450 watt psu). I ended up buying a 650 watt to run all of my shit. Make sure that your card doesnt require 2 6 pin connectors and if you are using 4 pin to 6 pin adaptors it may not work since it didnt work when i tried it.
One last thing to check is that if your motherboard supports SLI / Crossfire make sure you putting the card in the right slot and checking to see if there is a jumper on the board or a small card that has to be swaped around in order to run one GPU or two.

Re: Video Card WOes
What made you decide to get a overclocked 560 and not a 560ti?
what are your specs for your 560?
