Does anyone know if there is anything bad about this?

It just seems too good to be true

It was probably one of the worst $209 investments I've ever made. I find it is extremely hard to play video games with a giant dick in your ass.

the specs don't look that bad. it depends on what you want to run on it. looks like it should run css good enough. not sure how hot it might get though.

What's so bad about gateways?
And the fact it's from best buy doesn't mean much, especially when no other laptop companies are making anything comparable for that price. It's not like I'm getting ripped off or anything.

I had an extremely bad experience with gateway a few years back, absolutely no customer support and the like... after the friend finally got a new computer(the gateway was his), we went to the gateway store in our area, and smashed the shit out of the computer with sledgehammers in front of the doors...
oddly enough the store either moved or just left Green Bay a few months after, good riddance...
BUT, other than the fact that it is a gateway, I see nothing wrong with the build

Seeing as how I plan to pay for the BestBuy service plan which would still put the laptop under the cost of a MacBook Pro, service isn't much of an issue. Do you know if Gateways are more prone to hardware problems or if it's just shitty customer service.

I truthfully couldn't tell you... my issue happened quite a few years ago, and usually when I have a problem with something, I tend to stay away from that brand, store, ect... Just like MSI, I've had 3 of their motherboards fail for me, so I will no longer buy anything from MSI again
You could be getting a great laptop, it's just my personal paranoia that keeps me from getting a gateway nowadays, and I don't wish anyone to have the same issues as I had(except maybe double, then I could laugh at him Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_08)

My first laptop was the gateway 7510gx... I bought it for gaming and a desktop replacement when i went to college.. It kicked an insane amount of ass and cost me 1/2 what it cost others to to have 1/2 as much as I did. I dont know about their techsupport, so do what I did, get the geek squad warranty. Just so you know, I build all my computers, can pretty much debug and fix any problem i have, and do so for myself and others. Get the best buy plan and then a couple months before its over (like almost 3 years), take a 9volt to the mainboard, send it in, and get a completely new laptop worth however much you paid right now, not whats its worth then :P You also get screen/battery replacements, which i got once a year, pretty cool.
