Post Keyboard mod project
I have a logitech g15 v1 keyboard. I am planning on swapping out the blue leds with green, possibly adding 3 more (to the stock 3) making a total of 6 leds. this i can handle, but i have it in my head that i want to wire in a dimmer and power switch. I'm a noob with circuits so any help would be appreciated. and i'm willing to learn how to do it myself, i'm no outsourcer lawlz. but seriously if anyone can give me a place to start looking, and what to look for, that would be awesome!

cheers

for the dimmer, you want to hook up the LED array to the collector of a transistor, ground the emitter, and have anything that will output a pulse width modulated signal (duty cycle) by a knob hooked up to the base. (i think the 2n2222 transistor can handle the required current sinking.)

Or get a rotary potentiometer as a knob and connect it in series w/ the LEDs :P

The first method requires a microcontroller of some sort :P

power switch should be easy enough

If you're getting 220v from a keyboard, you are most definitely doing something wrong :P

lol, I was workin for this independent electrical company, I got lit up one time while I was putting in a dimmer for some dining rooms lights. Usually it wouldnt be so bad, but if it gets you good enough that you cant let go, then it's a shitty day.

Prometheus, I found a good place we can go to get some of this shit..as far as switches and stuff go. I didnt know you made a topic on here, but that's awesome. ckorban almost seems like he knows what he's talkin about :)

Ok, NO IDEA what that means! I'm a straight up noob when it comes to this stuff so plain english would be nice. I understand the logic of it all but the technical terms mess me up. along with not knowing anything about parts lawl.

sorry if it's a bother but I'm tryin to do this myself so i can learn what it's all about.

cheers

Haha i was putting in a couple of new air/heating units at this hotel in my home town and they sockets were different then the ones that were in the wall. Lets say they didn't know that there was another panel for them alone. O yea shit got me then bit me again when i tried to stand up. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_23 I took the rest of the day off after i finished with putting it in.

Um google it you can find anything you want on it.
