Yeah, buying a new copy of the game is probably the worst idea ever. It's not going to fix shit, and if it does, it'll be just because you uninstalled/reinstalled.
Just do that, you dumbshit.
Also, delete clientregistry.blob
Also, disable any firewall software you've got installed, including the Windows firewall. If you've got a firewall in your router, turn it off or open the port for counter-strike.
If none of that works, do this:
start, run, type "cmd" and hit enter. Run the following commands in the command prompt:
netsh i i r r (it'll just go down a line like it didn't do shit)
netsh w r c (or "netsh winsock reset" if w r c doesn't work).
Then reboot.

i had the same problem, wut kind of internet security are u using. also if u have the game just uninstall and reinstall through steam, not a hard copy.
