damn I thought I included that, Ive been googling it and lots of diff things ppl say it could be. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

::EDIT::
from what ive read, its likely the cpu is overheating, did u remove/clean the thermal paste from the heatsink and put new thermal paste on? did u plug in the cpu fan? check the bios for settings on ur cpu fan, make sure it is running at a high rpm.

http://www.tweaksforgeeks.com/IRQL_NOT_ ... EQUAL.html

they say to run ur computer until u get the error/BSOD, and restart ur computer, go into ur bios and check the cpu temp.

if that isnt the case, get memtest86+ and run that, it could be a memory problem, it might also be an incompatibility between ur RAM and ur cpu.

::EDIT::
what speed is ur ram.

::EDIT:: try updating ur chipset drivers. asus also has a utility called asus update, which runs inside of windows and will check for a newer version of ur bios, i assume u updated to the newest version, but u could try it just to be sure.

Post Re: Installing new cpu
The prob with that is the comp runs fine while Im using it. Its when I leave it for a few hrs come back the the bsod. Im running windows 7 and it will not accept my mb disk. my cpu is not getting hot, as far as I can tell. The bsod happens while Im not at comp, so cant get into bois to check as soon as it happens. the asus website does not have anything for my mb for windows 7 yet, I flashed 64 bit vista bios.

u can either, try using the vista drivers, or better yet call asus and they mightbbe able to fix the problem. or, u could sit at ur computer while doing something else and watch for the bsod

did you get updated firmware for your mobo from asus' website? could be a chipset driver issue or something. sometimes the default drivers that 7 uses aren't really the best. I would get any updated drivers they got.

first, he did update the bios, plus i already suggested using updated firmware but asus doesnt make win 7 drivers for his mobo. spidey, u could try the vista drivers, i have found they work sometimes.

Nope, vista drivers will not install. Says does not suport this OS. Came home to another bsod today so nero was not the prob. MAybe they will have some drivers for win7 soon, its not really making my life miserable or anyting. Like I said only happens when Im not using the comp.

Don't forget to check your power supply to make sure it's got enough juice for the new processor.

If it doesn't, you need to get a new power supply.

maybe this is just a windows 7 bug? I have the latest nvidia drivers. Seems to have something to do with going into standby mode

I have turned off the sleep and hybernate setting to see if it still happens. So far its been a hour and no bsod yet. And also disabled the usb settings, there was a few times where I would come back and the comp would still be on but my mouse and keyboard were powered off. So hopefullt this will do the trick.

Im def starting to think that this is a win7/nvidia driver problem. And nothing to with my new cpu. Ill post back tomorrow morning and see what has happened
