I'm not sure whats going on in this thread anymore, but I've gotta say that all of my computers so far have had ASUS MB's and I have not had a problem with any of them...

My current board, the ASUS Maximus Formula, is one hell of an overclocker, easy to understand BIOS, and had great software to go along with it...

ASUS is just all around good s**t

oh, yeah, thats right, i remember that conversation, kind of...

and I will admit, it depends on the actual MB for overclocking, mine right now is really good for it, others in the past were a bit more tricky, but I don't really see a need for excessive oc'ing

Asus and gigabyte fight it out for the best OC'ing board--so again i'm not sure what you're talking about.

Depends on what chip you have. Things like the q6600 and e8400, 8500, and 8600 present a massive value due to their ability to oc so heavily.

true, I've got a Q6600 at 3.0 right now, could easily push it to 3.6 or so, and this is air cooled...

I just don't see a real need to push it that far, seeing as all my most graphic and processing intensive apps get destroyed by the CPU

WTB hijacing GPUs' stream processors for something really F*CKING cool... thats alot of power just idling when not playing games.

On another note, this thread is about me and my predicament. All I really want out of a motherboard is reliability and design that isn't total shit. OC'ing is mainly a risk I dont have the money to fix if I F*CK it up. Lucky I barely get the thermal paste on right =P.
