latency issues
This is on reg cs. Game loads fine, and the servers come up great. Say i want to join one with latency of 33, when i try to join it brings up the view server screen. But where it normally has the peoples names it just says server not responding. And in the latency spot, it jumps to 2000. Now if i wait about 5 min, then it will let me join(only about 50% of the time). And when i finally get into the game, my ping is about 40, which for me is normal. So this is buttass retarded. Not sure if its my isp, and if it is why is my ping fine once i finally get in. Or maybe its just some setting that i have either forgotten in my year and a half lapse, or never needed to change before. Any help would be greatly welcomed.

Do you have a router? Sometimes the router will block the connection to the game servers but not the Steam master list server. I never figured out why this happened, but adding servers to your favorites usually fixes this problem.

i got a pos system, but its exactly the same from when i used to play a year and a half ago... but i do have a new router. Adding them to my faves doesn't change anything. if it is my router, what should i change so this doesn't continue?

No clue how to fix it. My problem stopped after a few firmware upgrades. A temporary fix might be to reset the router and connect after that.

U can try and disable the firewall on the router. Most routers come with one and can cause problems with the isp or your computer's personal firewall. I get kinda the sam problem with my network.
