What if we actually had a n00bfest tourney?

I believe we were supposed to have one this weekend per the discussion at the open council meeting. I don't know if that just went to the wayside or someone starting a LoL tournament that same weekend killed it.

its going to be the week after the lol tourny at least thats what i was told

Been thinking about what commercial approaches this community could offer for a while too. I dont think its in the best interest of the community at this time, but the possability for expansion is definatly there. Not too hot about the online auction tho. i think that contests and whatnot would be more benificial than an actual auction.

for instance, every month have the donation levels set at specific brackets (similiar to what we have now, but it resets every month). say we have a tourney or give-a-way, the winners of said contest would only win a prize based on the bracket of the donation meter. if your a bronze donater, you would get a bronze level prize like a used condom or something. silver, gold, jewgold members would have access to better prizes based on the higher donations. this would encourage everyone to donate and allows us to do mroe cool shit for the community without breaking the bank. its also the most fair as far as i can tell. yeah not everyone can donate month to month on a jew gold level, but such is life. if we worry about making EVERYONE happy, then no one will be.

i would donate more, but getting a new job, after practically not having one, right around the holidays has left me pretty broke. i may be able to start in the next month or two.

the good news is, up to now someone's always picked up the slack or gone above and beyond in donating. so no worries Turok.

also, this is one of the few times I can say for sure that a thread necro is called for, since we're lagging a bit on that donation bar.
