Yo guys and gals,

I know the GO servers have been down for a while. I know shit's been fucked up and I've neglected n00bfest for a while. Part of it has been work, part of it has been everything else that's going on in my life, and part of it has been waiting on fomenta to come around and help me with this shit. He appears to have fallen off the face of the earth, so I'm going to do the upgrade by myself. Right now, I'm copying a bunch of essential server configuration over to some off-box (NAS) storage. It's going to take a bit of time to complete, but once it has, I'm going to put in a ticket with our hosting provider to install a newer operating system on our box. That means the CS:S server, the Minecraft server, and any other services you may use are going to be down until the install is completed and the new gameservers are installed and configured. Currently I don't know how long that's going to take, exactly, but it might take a few days.

If anyone has moderate-to-strong linux skills and wants to give me a hand getting everything squared away, please PM me and we'll talk about it.

Thanks,

G

Server operating system is installed at the latest version and I'm currently restoring files from backups. The restoration process is going to take the better part of the night. I should hopefully have everything up and running tomorrow.

CS:GO is up @ 64.31.54.99:27015

Just noticed stats are down. Looks like the paypal subscription fucked up and they didn't get paid last month and the account got closed. F*CK me running. I got the goddamned email but didn't see it. Totally fucked that one up. I've put in a ticket with gameme.com (the stats provider) to ask if we can recover the data from our account, but we may not be able to. If so, we'll have to start fresh with website-based stats. No huge loss, but still kind of a bummer.

I think it's a decent time to reset the stats anyway. Easy to see activity.

CSS Scrim servers 1 and 2 are up.

CS:GO Arms race will be up in ~15.

Will the arms race server replace the classic server?

I've been running Ubuntu 12.04 and tried some more distros and been messing around with the terminal since fall, so maybe if you need someone to do some basic stuff with it, I can give you a hand.

Current setup is as follows:
20 slot Minecraft server
28 slot CS:S main
2x 50 slot (lol?) CSS scrim servers -- really designed for ~10 people or so
1x 28 slot CSGO Classic Casual
1x 28 slot CSGO Arms race

Doing some website maintenance real quick. Shit's gonna look fucked up for a few. If it doesn't return to normal, clear your browser cache and it should fix itself.

Cosmetic website maintenance (banner images update) complete. Some of the links don't work or point to old, irrelevant shit. I'm going to update those pages soon.

Teamspeak page updated.
Servers page updated (just need to get the minecraft remote querying shit working and set that up).

Currently all servers are up and running on the new operating system, and the website is MOSTLY up to date.

Things that still need to be fixed:
- minecraft section of servers page
- faq page needs a quick update
- downloads and links pages need updated to remove old useless shit
- web-based stats
- sourcetools scrim panel

If there's anything here I'm missing, let me know. I'll try to get through this shit over the weekend as time permits. For now, though, I've gotta run. Gotta pick up some furniture that I ordered. CHESTNUT END TABLES, BITCHES. #ballinouttacontrol

Maybe its the right time to add in a in-game stats mod to the cs:s server? I notice almost all populated servers these days have in-game stats. Lots of people will just not play in a server if there isn't in-game stats, and people who don't like them won't not play in a server with them (I would expect) so it seems like a good idea barring technical issues. I dont know much about cs:s mods but maybe we could get one that couples stats and fun admin cmds like we used to have (timebomb freezebomb etc etc)

Gman thats awesome dude. Can't wait to play some CS:GO with you guys in the n00b server! Prepare your butthole for incoming donations.

Edit: Wait a tick, I donated $15 last night, and my debit card was charged, but it's not showing up on the donations page. Are they not working right now?
