It's not a completely new engine, but I believe it is a more recent version than the one css is on. It looks a lot nicer than css. I have no clue if this would be what they will make HL3 on, isn't there supposed to be another HL2-episode first? I haven't really played Halflife that much, so I dunno!

I fear this (when I read they were going for 5v5 competitive balance). I know the turn that Quake took with 3 arena, and finally 4, which essentially shut out casual players once and for all.

Basically if you didnt know the maps by heart and shoot lanes like a pro boss, you were fucked and could simply not have much fun.

I was afraid of this, yeah this is not a brand new game, this is more of an add-on like an exspansion pack. They are just adding more maps and weapons to the same source engine we play all day/night. Shame, i was really excited untill I read the page. Oh welll mayby this will be a step in the right direction. hell who knows they might even "fix" key issues with the game.

And cyning how can you nerf the p90? it already takes 15+ bullets to kill you with it ; )

hey come on Big G, nobody wants these guys to go all out more than I do, I mean source came out in 2004, since then we have better cards, better processors, and better screens. It makes more sense to just start from step 1 and do a complete do-over of the shibaz. I will still buy the pack and I hope to god the new weapons/maps are fun.

I think this is awesome! you can only play the same 12 maps, and shoot the same guns for so long til it gets boring and repetitive. Even if this is just a face lift it will be a welcomed one i think. New things to try in the game a a new look will only make the game stronger.
