This F*CKING blows a bunch of goddamn dick. His name is on 95% of all Slayer songs ether as full writer or contributor (both lyric and music wise).

Probably the most famous song he did the complete music and lyrics on:

Sure Gary Holt and play the music but goddamn no-one is going to be filling in the creative boots that are left empty.

My friend just texted me about this...Big loss for slayer and music in general. One of the greatest thrash guitarists out there.

Angel of Death Monarch to the Kingdom of the Dead! Tom Araya's scream in the beginning is just haunting. My favorite Slayer album is Show No Mercy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASKb-u4Vt5g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1KDcZFKAgY 2 of my favorite songs from Slayer

Reign in Blood is getting cranked as soon as I get outta work, luckily I got to see Jeff with SLAYER a few times, great shows, amazing guitarist R.I.P.

Where does this put Slayer now? Without Dave or Jeff I think they will have to split up...Both are irreplaceable imo. It'd be like replacing Tony Iommi, it just can't happen

both are irreplaceable but mind you they have gone without Dave before. Jeff on the other hand is a different story. Its like Led Zep trying to keep going without Bonham. Like yea you could keep going but....its not Zep without Bonham. I personally as a fan would love to see them keep going but as a fan I also would like to see them stop. Jeff was a huge part of that band.

God damn this F*CKING sucks....

I would suppose they'll continue their tours, Gary Holt can play, and well, sad but true Dave is replaceable (supposedly he's not officially gone and done, only out this current tour)...

As a recording unit though, it's really hard to guess what will happen. They were very adamant to have Jeff on the record, he was a major, major, major contributor to their successful hits\records. World Painted Blood kinda had a resurgence in Hanneman on it and that one was finally a turn around from the few ho-hum albums they had previously.
