Just because I can, I'm going to dump the greatest music ever made into one single thread. Blame my current unemployment and new speakers.

You just can't say anything bad about old metallica. They were one of the few bands that could play anything live. And they played it better live than they did in the studio, pure talent.

This thread would be way too time consuming and trying to actually be able to pull off a good post. Embed shouldnt do shit to our forums. With embed, the connection is between your computer and youtube. Our forums are only serving up text & images that people upload to them.

So if your computer's a piece of shit it'll kill it with 100 embed videos, but that's about it.

As omega posted....OPETH. They are F*CKING incredible. Ive seen these guys live and it is just F*CKING unreal. Mikael Akerfeldt is a F*CKING incredible Musician and vocalist.

WOW Reilly thanks for the tipoff on Strapping Young Lad haha I haven't headbanged that hard since I first heard Walk :O Devin Townshend is F*CKING amazing on stage! HOLY SHIT LOL \m/

And Dirk I just can't think of a single song off of St. Anger that I can actually listen to all the way through without getting bored and browsing to an older, better (imo), Metallica song. The best song on it is the title track, but Some Kind of Monster is decent too. I just plain don't like the rest of the album. On the flip side, I'm one of the 'purists' that was F*CKING impressed with Death Magnetic. I think its a step back in the right direction - even if they're not the same band live. They're old and can't really rip like they used to but they still HAVE IT. Death Magnetic kicks ass =]

Yeah, Devin Townsend and Strapping Young Lad are beasts. Gene Hoglan is a beast's beast because he's just that sick of a metal drummer. If you like Strapping Young Lad, you should really like Nevermore. The two have very similar styles and feels to their sound. Very heavy, very ragey, yet very technically proficient and progressive. Good combo.
