I don't know how I figured this out but... Open up your graphics driver and set everything to low (for hardware end) Open up desired game and set everything to high (for software end) Play. I got 100 FPS with everything on low, Direct X 8.1. I set the drivers and I didn't see any improvement (with low graphics) and for some odd reason I set everything to the highest it can go and I get 150 FPS!!! I gained FPS and the game looks a lot smoother now. also cl_righthand 0 |

Sorry but this is very old news.You get more frames because your making less textures.With the old ati 9700 pros you could get away with high performance instead of optimal without seeing any difference since there IQ was so good. But just remember you are giving up something with lower mip map levels and lower textures.But i guess in the end if it looks good to you then go with it. Personally i'm willing to give up some frames for higher IQ and a little AA and AF myself.With that said i cant see doing this unless your card is low level. |

I'm on a laptop, and I want to keep a steady 100 FPS. If I go lower than 100 then I send less information to the server and therefore the connection will not be as consistent. I could do AA 16X and still maintain 90-120 but that 90 kills me. |

Who cares about how it looks omfg it looks so good. I rather have stable fps instead of shitty fps with a cool pic. But thats just me. |
