Pick on sensativity and stick with it, or you will suck the rest of your life.

Sensitivity is controlled by the game, desktop sensitivity, refresh rate, resolution, and the type of mouse you have. Not many of you will have the same set up so don't bother using someone else's number... it won't be the same. Just know that lower sensitivity helps with precision and accuracy, and higer sensitivity helps with quicker movements (better reflexes)... That's it. So pick a sensitivity and stick with it.

I've spent plenty of time screwing around with sensitivities when it wasn't needed. The key thing I look for is am I able to turn quick enough to keep up with someone strafing in front of me. If you can't, I'd say adjust it slightly until you're able to and stick with that. You'll get used to aiming in the distance in no time.

Just a note for posting sensativities:
Post what your in-game sensitivity as well as the desktop sensitivity (out of the 11 bars from lowest to highest)

Sensitivity: 3
Windows Sensitivity (Win XP): 6/11

Can someone explain to me wtf these do for my mouse/aim?
-noforcemparms -noforcemaccel
btw: I basically got all of my "advanced settings" based on frOd's settings
http://www.gotfrag.com/cs/user/14224/

Mine are at...
• Resolution: 1024 x 768
• Sensitivity: 3
• Windows Sensitivity (Win XP): 6/11
• Refresh Rate: 60Hz (LCD monitor)
• Digital Vibrance: Low Medium
• Desktop Gamma: 1.16
• Vsync: Off
• Antialiasing: Automatic
• Anisotropic Filtering: Automatic
• Crosshair Size: small

I am currently awaiting an MX518 mouse along with a Sennheiser PC150 headset; my sensitivity might be changing.

i started off just recently with a high sensitivity but as my game play has started to improve a little ive dropped it to 1.6 which has helped with my accuracy greatly.

I've gone down to 5.2. The quickest method that works for me in determining a proper mouse sensitivity is playing a bit of aim_ak_colt. The map isn't that bad once you learn the shooting methods, and for some reason helps to better familiarize myself with an adjusted sensitivity.
