I didnt see this mentioned anywhere previously so please disregard if this is an old bit but, anyone else notice that Strike has only 22 spawn locations on it. I love the map but I think we may be able to find one with 28 spawn locations or maybe someone can add some to our existing map??? |

You'd have to edit the map and then rename it so it doesn't clash with the current one, but like you said that might have been done already. |

True, I used to play on a server called [8-ball] back around the late beta/1.2 era of CS (before 1.6 obviously) and there was a guy on there who edited the spawnpoints for the maps that required more but he never renamed them. People had to rename their original maps lol. |

yeah but if you renamed it and put in into the server database/rotation you would auto dl it as if it was a totally different map wouldnt you? so on the client side there wouldnt be any additional work i assume |

Just saying I know it's possible, but I also am emphasizing the point of renaming the maps to reduce client workload. |

Ya just make it and call it de_cpl_strike_n00bfest and then put it on the server and people would automatically download it when it came to the map. |

Okay i've started to take a crack at this. Upon taking up this task I thought this would be a simple decompile of de_cpl_strike opening up hammer and plopping in 4 more spawn points on each side, there is plenty of room and i wouldn't even have to add another buyzone trigger. But then i looked at the decompiled version of the map and I have to say who ever created this map was top notch with their hammer skills. For those who have never seen a decompiled map before it looks like this: ![]() If i'm going to do this i will to need to redo some textures and probably trash the .nav documentation, probably will be releasing beta versions for a bit while we root out glitches from decompiling. |
