I was kicked for having too high of ping, which I normally do not have Im usually around 70-80. For some reason recently I have spiked anywhere from 300-700.Not sure why,and no im not dl porn or anything for that matter. Could it be my ethernet cable? or my router? perhaps my internet providers equipment?or my computers connection? Any ideas would help because I dont want to keep getting kicked and/or banned for my shit connection. Thanks. |

you wont get banned for having a high ping it auto kicks you if your ping is to high. First thing i would do is go to http://www.dslreports.com and do a speed test and a line quality test to see if your connection is up to speed. Note you need to sign up for a free account to do the LQ test but its worth it. The 2nd thing i would do is do a tracert from the command line to see where your connection problems are at. to do this you would click on start the run then type cmd then type tracert http://www.microsoft.com and watch the hops pay close attention to the MS the higher the number the longer it takes for you to communicate with that server. If the numbers are high (more than 50) as soon as you start it could be your isp or something wrong with your hardware. I assume you have already checked for spyware, malware and viruses if not i would do that as well. Hope this helps |

I went to dslreports and I cannot get pinged to my computer so I followed the steps and it still cannot go through. and yes I have checked for spyware and what not and its clean. Do you think it could be my cable? or router? |

If you get new cable go atleast Cat6 so you can take full advantage of Gig Routers. Do you share the connection? Also my friend had this problem living in an apartment, one of his nieghbors was tapping into his feed and stealing all the bandwidth. |

Also my friend had this problem living in an apartment, one of his nieghbors was tapping into his feed and stealing all the bandwidth. Why would he need cat6? His router's built-in switch is likely a 10/100 switch, so it's only going to negotiate @ 100mbps. Hell, his NIC is likely 10/100 instead of gigabit. Either way, if one side is 100mbit and not 1000mbit, then cat6 isn't going to help him even on his LAN. Beyond that, if his internet connection is slower than a gigabit (my uncle owns an ISP and his fastest outbound connection isn't even a gigabit -- this guy's connection is likely slower than 10mbit), which it UNDOUBTEDLY is, then there's even more of a bottleneck once the traffic passes out his modem upstream. You don't need cat6, or even cat5e. Your lag problem is likely not a cable problem unless you've got a really long, really shitty cable. It's probably your internet connection taking a dump. |

I go through a company called PrarieINet,and currently I have a 1 meg download and 200kbs upload speed. I do share the connection through a wireless router,my computer is directly connected to the router. It happens when I connect to a server I will connect at 150-200 ping.It then goes down. And then of course when I play it happens from time to time as well. Its probably my system hardware. Thanks for the help guys! |

Reynolds he probably MOST LIKELY haves a comercial router, you know the ones gaved by the ISP...Gman already gaved you a class so ill stop right here, kkthxbai. |

I got a whole bunch of Cat6 from my friend who works in IT and I found it made a big difference in my system especially since I share the line. It wasn't a gigantic difference but it was noticeable, and I find it more consistant then my old Cat5. Just trying to share idea's, sometimes every little bit helps. I'm no expert I'm just putting forth something I found worked for me. |

Cat5 and cat6 cables will both go much faster than your internet connection in any sort of residential setting (and even faster than what most apartment complexes have). Cat6 cable isn't helping you out any more than cat5 as soon as your traffic leaves your network. |

I'm no expert I'm just putting forth something I found worked for me. For example, your taking a dump right??, and its a decent piece of turd, but your rectum and anus are huge as hell, so the shit will drop instantly, because of the size of your butthole, then when it drops to the toilet you flush it BUT the hole on the toilet its smaller, so it gets stuck or passes by, slowly, then the shit travels through all the sewage system wich is composed of different pipes that have different sizes. With that said, it doesnt matter if your butthole and rectum are F*CKING huge, the turd will arrive to his destination depending mostly of the size of the pipes they are traveling and the water and the pressure on each pipes, quality control BLABLABLA. I could be even more specific but ill just get you dizzy, like when me and gman where talking about QinQ and like 5 people started bitching at the car so we could just shut the F*CK up. |
