Hey, I recently installed ubuntu 12.04 lts on a laptop someone gave me. The thing is, it has very limited disk space so I want to get rid of the dual-booted windows OS. I know literally nothing in linux OS yet though so if you think you can help me through that, it'll need to be like talking to a 3 year old or a dog. So I looked up some videos and tutorials online to uninstall windows, but I seriously understand nothing that folks write about it. I couldn't install ubuntu by CD because the laptop doesn't have a CD player, nor by USB stick because it doesn't recognize the OS installation, it just acts like a stick full of normal files and folders. So I went with Wubi. I didn't find any way to delete windows on the way though, and now I'm stuck with a dual-boot on a shitty laptop. Do you need any specs? Do you need any more info about the OS? All I know is I can do it with the Terminal, but I know literally nothing on how to use it. |

could have just reformatted it instead of doing a side-by-side installation. As for USB how are you installing the files to USB? I recommend using the Universal USB installer and max out the persistence slider to 4 gb. |

By reformatting it, I still need to file to install it, don't I? I did use Universal USB Installer, dunno if I maxed out the persistence to 4gb though. The USB still didn't read as a Ubuntu installer. |

Alright nevermind. When I set the boot priority, it set FDD at first when I had to set HDD. It's now installing and deleting the previous OS. Thanks anyway |
