So, I've tried installling AVG Internet Security 2013 twice now - both times it's installed fine, so I go and do an initial scan of the computer, and multiple times now, in the middle of the scan, my computer shuts off unexpectedly. Has anyone else had that issue with this before? Any tips or hints? |

First of all AVG is garbage but try scanning it in safe mode. I use Panda. :) |

be sure there isnt a second antivirus program that you didnt know was running...if one finds the other sometimes it will see the other as a virus and shut down the system to protect itself happened to me somehow i got norton and didnt know it |

It's never happened before, until I installed 2013 version. I've used 2012 version for a couple years now with no issues. |

disconnect from the internet (pull the plug) and uninstall AVG and make sure it's uninstalled before you try re-installing it. Consider running the AVG removers at http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities after uninstalling to make sure it's really gone. |
