Turn of AA and Vertical Sync. fps_max 100 cl_showfps 1 First two help increase framerate. Fps Max just locks in 100 fps Showfps to see your fps. I finally reinstalled CZ again. So I know those commands work because I just used them and my CZ is running 99fps. I run 80-130 in Source. 99 CZ and 99 1.6. See if it helps. If not bust down on a defrag as well. |

Italy uses alot of the shadowing thats in CZ unless you have it turned off and Aztec has the lightning, fog, and rain in CZ unless you have those turned off. Somethings push the system a little more, but overall everything should run smooth. I still run 99fps in Italy and Aztec so I didnt completely answer the question. |

developer 1 lets you break the 99 fps lock.Just type that in console then set the fps as you like,fps_max 200 i can keep a steady 400 frames but i keep it at 200. |

You have to manually shut them off in your video cards console. If your playing Source you can shut them off through its own video settings. However I think your playing CZ, so you would need to manually shut them off through the video card settings. Once you find them turn them to OFF/Always Off if you have the option. It gets rid of a little jaggies and makes things just a tad smoother, but for 1.6 and CZ it wont make much of a difference if there on since the engines are so old anyways. Turning both off can get you a decent jump in framerate. Also playing in OpenGL helps a shit ton as well. 1.6 and CZ have ping capouts of 100. However with Developer 1 enabled you can see what your framerates could be like if it used more than 100. You may see 360-400, but your really not getting that much frame rate. CS Source has a ping cap of 300 off the bat. Developer 1 could hit you into the 500's or more. Human eye can only understand 75 fps. Its still nice to look at more though. |

There isnt any motion blur in video games,so yes the human eye can tell the difference between 150 frames and 75.If you dont believe it a simple way to prove this to fire up quake 3 and set your refresh to 75 then sync it.Then try it without using vertical sync. The difference is very noticeable. |
