| Post subject: | Need help with my comp |
My computer has been acting up lately. Sometimes sites load slow, im getting horrible FPS in WoW. My CS is gay too. Ive done just about everything i can think of to try n make my comp run faster. I system restored like 3 times, i disk defragged and cleaned my disk up, I uninstalled all games n programs that i dont use, updated drivers, i even restarted it (har har). The only option left is to so a fuggin Factory Restore which i dont wanna do because i have too much shit to reinstall. So does anyone have ideas as to what i should do.[/b] |

Check to see what is starting with your computer.Go to start then run and type msconfig then check the services tab and check the hide all microsoft services. Then disable everything that is left. Then go to startup and disable everything, reboot. If anything comes back go to system properties and then administrative tools and stop the ones that came back and disable them, reboot. As a reference i have nothing running in my services and nothing in my startup. |

Tell me what cpu,gfx card and ram you got and what resolutions your trying to run and ill see what i can do.But assuming you have decent card and processor i would get driver cleaner and remove all video card drivers then reinstall them and make sure my direct x was up to date. Also make sure your not using anti aliasing or anisotropic filtering. As these would have a severe effect if your running high resolution's on a sub par card. You did say that cs worked fine just not wow,so that means its a direct 3d problem and not a open gl one.So check other open gl games and see if thay work properly and other d3d games and see if they dont.Try all this and give me a update. |

Display drivers get corrupted and if you just reinstall without cleaning out the old ones, you will still have problems. So take my word for it,ive been a onion for years helping far more learned people than you. |

Im running everything on low. The game res matches up to my computer res. Im not sure about how to go about uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and that whole thing about anti aliasing n anisotropic filtering. |
