So,... A couple of weeks ago I was introduced to a game called Settlers of Catan, a board game where players try to dominate an island (Catan) by building settlements and gathering resources. I liked it so much, I ran out and board the core set, and a bunch of buddies and I played it... we were hooked! The next weekend, during Grand Prix in Montreal, I ran out to grab two of the expansions (Sea Farerers, and Traders and barbarians). The game store was full of people playing Magic and Warhammer, so I pushed my way to the cash both expansions in hand. Suddenly some dude reaches out and touches the games and says "You're gonna love these!". With Catan in common we started to talking. Turns out this guy was from California, and worked for Maya. He started talking about some games hes beta testing, then Diablo III came up... Bad news; turns out they (Blizzard) havent started beta testing it yet, cause they are making so much cash with WoW subscriptions. Said it wont come out probably before 2013 or so.... Sucky story I know, but as I currently own 7 copies of Diablo II, I am drooling to play D3. I have 5 weeks of Vaycation banked just for the occasion! C'Mon Blizz!!!

I love Settlers. Been playing for 5 years now. As for the whole Diablo 3 thing... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- I've been waiting for so long now :'(

Settlers is amazing! I have only played the core set though. Do the expansions add much to make it worth getting them?

Before there were a few ways to win, but there is slightly more you can do to direct the flow of the game, and more to take into consideration. If you love the core set, it would definitely be worth getting some expansions to try. Now I can't really say which one I like best... Seafarers?

There is a way you can play this game online, you know. I'll have to find the website, but it's fun. Also Matt, we've got Settlers and I think the knights and something expansion.
