Re: Everyones favorite drink...
Since September I've been drinking a lot whiskey (Canadian Club, JD, Crown Royal etc) and 7Up, I prefer that to Coke.
The Hop Stoopid is great, but I REALLY enjoyed that Allagash Tripel. Nothing has beaten the Lagunitas Doppel Weizen, though... at least when it comes to Belgian/Bavarian style wheats. Its sex, money AND power all rolled into liquid form. LOL. I dunno, lately I've been on this huge Imperial IPA and high-ABV Belgian/wheat thing. I bought a six pack of Franziskaner Weissbier last night and I'm a little disappointed. It was better on tap but its still not full bodied and strong enough. Not as good as the Doppel Weizen. The only beers I've had that truly rivals Lagunitas' Doppel Weizen personally is the Allagash Dubbel and Tripel and the New Belgium Abbey. SOOOO GOOD. I've had Heavy Seas' Yule Tide seasonal Belgian Tripel and it was similar but too sweet. I really dig Heavy Seas, though. Good brewery.
When it comes to hoppy beers, I've been drooling for Russian River Brewing Co.'s Pliny the Elder and its Imperial brother Pliny the Younger. Apparently these are the two top-rated IPAs around. I want. Bad.
And yeah, Harpoon makes some good stuff. I've only had their Winter Warmer seasonal that we carry at my store. Wasnt remarkable, though. I'd like to try the Spruce Tip, but I dunno... that 32 IBU count puts me off a bit. I tend to like beer on the more bitter side, but you can't judge a book by its cover. Those Spruce tips could make it really piney and crisp/floral and the IBV could be way off.

The spruce tips are great for adding a slight bit more bitterness to the brew. I felt like the finish was not quite spicy but still had a bite to it, and definitely piney. I really enjoyed it but my favorite beer is still the Shipyard XXXX.
XXXX IPA pours a deep orange color with a creamy head. The aroma is hoppy and sweet, a little earthy. The flavor is excellently balanced between several varieties of hops and malts. It’s brewed with 4 kinds of hops, and then dry hopped with Cascade to give it that nice grapefruit flavor, and all that bitterness is balanced with 4 kinds of malts.
Starts a little sweet, finishes bitter, just the right amount of carbonation. This is an excellent beer.
